SAFETY (ISM) & MARINE SECURITY (ISPS) INTERNAL AUDITS
Our Internal Audits Division has implemented a "Internal ISM/ISPS Audit Program" designed to assist those shipowners who require the annual internal audit for ships in those ports which are in our jurisdiction. With this service we intend to support DPA & CSO department of your company in order to minimize the costs involved for audits in this area. Our marine auditors are duly qualified according to regulations of IRCA.
ISM CODE CERTIFICATION
The International Safety Management Code (ISM) is now compulsory for all passengerships, oil tankers, chemical tankers, gas carriers, bulk carriers and high-speed cargo craft of 500 grt and over engaged on international voyages. The code will be compulsory for other cargoships and mobile drilling units of 500 grt and above on July 1, 2002.
MARINE SURVEYORS
Surveys marine vessels and watercraft, such as ships, boats, tankers, and dredges, to ascertain condition of hull, machinery, equipment, and equipage, and to determine repairs required for vessel to meet requirements for insuring: Examines underwater section of hull while ship is drydocked to ascertain conditions that indicate repairs are required. Takes readings on tailshaft and tailshaft bearings. Inspects condition of propellers, rudders, and sea valves. Inspects above waterline section of ship, such as hatchways, freeing ports, ventilators, bulkheads, fittings, and attachments, for compliance with operating standards, and compliance with standards for protection of crew. Observes operating tests on machinery and equipment and inspects opened up machinery for interior condition. Observes testing of cargo gear for compliance with testing standards and issues or endorses certificate for gear tested. Prepares reports on types of surveys conducted, recommended actions and repairs, or conditions remedied. Submits report to client.
